New staff find White House in tech Dark Ages

~

'It's kind of like going from an Xbox to an Atari,' an Obama aide says

What does that mean in 21st-century terms? No Facebook to communicate with supporters. No outside e-mail log-ins. No instant messaging. Hard adjustments for a staff that helped sweep Obama to power through, among other things, relentless online social networking.

To state the obvious, obviously, it's a security thing, I think. And, as an increasingly aging old dinosaur, I kind of liked Atari...oh, 21st Century, that's right...I keep forgetting.

But jadedj -- they weren't expecting to find Tandy 2000s in the Oval Office!

But the White House had "The Google" as George used to claim.
