Palin's decision to abandon the governor's office wasn't about politics. It was about money.
You know, once you have spent an afternoon shopping for clothes at Neiman Marcus and spent $75,000, it's hard to go back to the Wasilla K-Mart for your next party dress.
The same goes for life after limos, chartered jets, fancy hotels and assorted handlers and gofers at your disposal.
Palin is headed for the big time on TV news. I don't see why media pundits don't see this. She doesn't want to be president four years from now, she wants another trip to Neiman Marcus.
And who can blame her?
She has a snowmobile racing husband, a young son with a mental disability who she will have to provide for, a nitwit for the father of her grandchild by her teenage daughter, a boat load of politically motivated lawsuits to pay for and a governor's annual salary of $125,000.
This is a no-win deal.
