Nelson Rolihlahla MANDELA
Ninety one years of legacy is still on as the man of peace and ambassador of justice the Nelson Mandela turned 91 on July 18, 2009.
He felt the heat of racial segregation in Africa and began actively participating in politics.
Mahatma Gandhi influenced Mandela. He worked as an anti-apartheid activist. The South African court convicted him on charges of sabotage.
Mandela served 27 years in jail. His release from jail on February 11, 1990 was the end of apartheid in Africa.
The Nelson Mandela won the Nobel Peace Price in 1993.
May 10, 1994 Nelson Mandela became the first black president of a democratic South Africa after winning the South-Africa’s first multi-racial elections.
Mr Mandela’s life personifies the idea that one person has the power to make a difference and leave their unique imprint on the world.
He gave his 67 years of life for the equality in South Africa.
Salute to such a man who spent his whole life for the sake of others.
