Britain's National Health Service - the NHS - is celebrating its 65th birthday. But its supporters - and its workers - are not in high spirits.

A survey released to coincide with the NHS's 65th anniversary has given a damning verdict on Prime Minister David Cameron - and the coalition government's handling of the health service.

Overwhelmingly NHS staff believe they are failing: failing to protect and benefit patients.

And failing to keep the NHS safe.NHS staff from across the board were surveyed. Doctors, Nurses, from surgeons to admin staff.
