California prisoners join in on Gitmo-like hunger strike (VIDEO)
In Guantanmo Bay, Cuba, 106 detainees are starving themselves in protest of their living conditions at the facility and of those 45 are being force-fed.
The demonstrations have been going on for months and recently a US district judge said that only President Obama has the power to stop the force feeding practice that some say is violation of human rights law.
But in California, thousands of prisoners are beginning a hunger strike of their own for the same reason, their living conditions.
