BREAKING: Guantanamo hunger strikers start to eat (VIDEO)
Of the 102 Gitmo detainees currently tracked as hunger strikers by the Department of Defense, an official spokesperson told reporter Ryan J. Reilly that 99 of those prisoners ate a meal within the last 24 hours.
Gitmo officials allowed prisoners the option of living communally with one another, rather than splitting them up in individual cellblocks.
Does this mean the hunger strike is over?
Not necessarily, because officials must see what they call "sustained eating," meaning 1,500 calories each day for a week.
