The Voting Rights Act was passed 48 years ago - to ensure that all Americans - regardless of their race or ethnicity - had the right to vote.

But fast forward to today - and this act - which has been extended time and time again by Congress - is under attack.

Will the Supreme Court strike down a part of the act - and if so - what does that mean for African Americans in our democracy?
