The Pentagon has purchased a pioneering software program that creates fake identities on social media websites like facebook, twitter or myspace, in an attempt to infiltrate and influence overseas populations in order to topple foreign governments and influence elections in US and overseas.
Many believe that this is how the uprisings in Libya, Egypt and other Middle Est countries began and were orchestrated by the United States. They will be able to use the same method to smear US politicians in order to swing elections.
The $2.7 million program allows one military user to create multiple personas on the internet and engage in extended online conversations and communications with people they can brainwash into starting uprisings or rumors that can topple politicians or governments.
A deceptive spokesman for the Pentagon said that psychological warfare scheme was operating only on overseas social media sites.
