Defectors and Deception in Afghanistan
This week, the U.S. Government began floating the idea of welcoming low and mid-level Taliban defectors into its war on terror against Al Qaeda.
After waging an eight-year “dirty war” against the Taliban, U.S. military commanders and politicians are publicly acknowledging their “insurgent” enemy is actually part of the “fabric” of Afghan society.

(Well, the Taliban were America’s friend during the 10 years the Soviets invaded and got kicked out of Afghanistan. Then, they became our enemies when the US invaded Afghanistan for 8 years and now they are our friends again. Makes sense.
Same as in Iraq. Saddam was our friend when he was at war with Iran and we supplied him with tons of WMDs. Then, the US claimed that Saddam was going to use the WMDs (which were all used-up by now) against us and so we killed him and invaded his country.
Now, the new Iraq government is under US control and our friends and US companies control the oil. The Saudis do 9/11 and the Saudis are our best friend. Oil is such a healing balm. The Afghanistan poppy a healing smoke.)
