America, Exceptional at One Thing (VIDEO)

The term American Exceptionalism has been thrown around a lot lately since President Obama used it when speaking about options in Syria.

Many super-patriotic Americans use the term to express their feelings that America is superior, but that wasn't the original meaning of the term.

However, there IS one thing the US is exceptional at, and that's having its government shut down.





American exceptionalism

American exceptionalism is the theory that the United States is "qualitatively different" from other states.

Many neoconservative and American conservative writers have promoted EXCEPTIONALISM as superiority.

To them, the United States is like the biblical shining "City upon a Hill", and exempt from historical forces that have affected other countries.
