Major Fred Meyer, a Ret. International Guard helicopter pilot and decorated Vietnam Veteran is one of hundreds of eyewitnesses that saw a missile hit TWA Flight 800 on July 17th 1996 over Long Island.

Also Ray Lahr, a Flight 800 Investigator believes the plane was shot down and does not believe in the NTSB's conclusions.



TWA 800 was shot down by accident during a live-fire test of the US Navy's Aegis-CEC system.

This was not the first time there had been problems, as an earlier version of the same system had shot down an Iranian passenger jet in 1988.

The wreckage of TWA 800 was found covered with a red residue identified as combustion products from a damaged or nearly exhausted solid rocket motor, such as those used for military missiles. The official story is that this red residue was seat glue used to hold the cushions to the meal frames. But that seat glue is pale green. The FBI tried to get around this by sending the scientist tasked with identifying the red residue samples of seat glue dyed with a red dye. In other words, the FBI was caught faking the evidence (yet again).
