Senator McCain met with Al-Qaeda rebels in Syria and today he announced that Obama will provide weapons to these terrorists (VIDEO)

At the behest of Senator John McCain (R-AZ), the White House announced on Thursday that it will be supplying the Syrian opposition with more military support.

History is bloodied by similar US interventions, namely in Afghanistan in the 1980's.

So why do John McCain and the Obama White House think this intervention will be different this time?
