Haiti disaster brings out comics Rush Limbaugh and Pat Robertson

If you are black, Catholic and speak French, don’t have a disaster because comics Limbaugh and Robertson will take center stage and steal the show.

A coincidence that both the Haiti earthquake two days ago and the Katrina Hurricane in New Orleans affected French-speaking black Catholics.

What do right wing racist Christians like to pick on most? Blacks, Catholics and the French. Remember when we changed the name of French Fries to Freedom Fries?

What was Rush Limbaugh’s comedy routine attack on New Orleans blacks during Katrina?

Limbaugh: I want to know. I look at Iowa, I look at Illinois---I want to see the murders. I want to see the looting. I want to see all the stuff that happened in New Orleans. I see devastation in Iowa and Illinois that dwarfs what happened in New Orleans. I see people working together. I see people trying to save their property...I don't see a bunch of people running around waving guns at helicopters, I don't see a bunch of people running shooting cops. I don't see a bunch of people raping people on the street. I don't see a bunch of people doing everything they can...whining and moaning---where's FEMA, where's BUSH. I see the heartland of America. When I look at Iowa and when I look at Illinois, I see the backbone of America.

What was his comedy relief yesterday after hearing about the thousands who have died in the Haiti earthquake?

Rush says Haiti produces "zilch, zero, nada," asks when Obama will call for Aristide to be returned. He doesn’t say, “Poor suffering Haitians” or “Let’s help those less fortunate”. No, he basically says that Haitians are worthless. After all, they are Black Catholics who speak French. Racism anyone?

Now it’s Pat Robertson’s turn on the “black disaster” stage. Pat Robertson has previously linked natural disasters and terrorist attacks to legalized abortion in the United States.

Pat Robertson, the evangelical (fanatical) Christian who once suggested God was punishing Americans with Hurricane Katrina, now says a "pact to the devil" brought on the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

Robertson says native Haitians made deal with the devil for freedom from France.

Robertson, the host of the "700 Club," blamed the tragedy on something that "happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it."

The Haitians "were under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon III and whatever," Robertson said on his broadcast Wednesday. "And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, 'We will serve you if you will get us free from the French.' True story. And so, the devil said, 'OK, it's a deal.' "

Native Haitians defeated French colonists in 1804 and declared independence.

Every so often I watch parts of the 700 Club, by accident, while flipping channels. I’m always amazed at the “history” this man professes during his comedy religious shows. His history sounds nothing like the history we Americans learned in school. His history seem to be religious fantasies with Porky Pig playing the devil and Bugs Bunny playing Jesus Christ.

Rule No. 1: If you are Black, Catholic and speak French, for God’s sake stay away from disasters or Rush and Pat will use you on their latest comedy routine.
