1. Go to the Google homepage and sign into your account. Use the dropdown menu under your name in the upper right-hand corner to access your settings. Click on 'account settings', like below.

2. Next, find the section called 'Services' and you'll see a link to 'View, enable, or disable web history', shown in the red box below. Click on it.

3. Finally, you can remove all of your search details by clicking on 'Remove Web History', shown in the red box below. Once you have done this your history will remain disabled until you turn it back on.

Several years ago I set up a gmail account for my daughter so she could send email to her grandparents. At the beginning of this school year, she started using it much more actively to send messages to her friends and classmates. She also started a blogger blog as a class project.

Then, we woke up this morning to find that Google had disabled both her blog and her email account--apparently because she is under age.

We have to remember that changes to a free site are probably for monetizing reasons. The more buttons they make you push the greater their sellable bank of information is.

Nothing is FREE! Google, You Tube, Facebook, etc., all make money by selling information about YOU! The more you click, the more they learn, the more they have to sell!

YouTube, I can't overstate how badly you've handled this. For such a huge site you ought to have something resembling a clue how to listen to and interact with your users!

The single thing you didn't do wrong is that you (apparently) haven't censored any criticism. Thank goodness, or everyone would have gone ballistic.

You got that right by accident though, because actually it's completely typical for responses to the YouTube blogs to be ignored.

The United Nations Lists Cell Phones as Cancer Hazard

The United Nations’ health agency, the World Health Organization, now lists mobile phone use in the same “carcinogenic hazard” category as lead, engine exhaust and chloroform.

But no adverse health effects have been established, the agency explains.

The decision to list cell phones as a cancer hazard came after a team of 31 scientists from 14 countries examined peer-reviewed studies on cell phone safety.

Data Protection Commissioner asks Apple to explain iPhone Tracker

Apple “intermittently” collects information about iPhone users’ whereabouts, transmitting the data back to itself every 12 hours, the Journal reported, citing a letter it said the company sent to U.S. lawmakers last year.

Google’s Android phones send location data to the company several times an hour as well as information about local Wi-Fi networks and a code identifying the particular handset, according to the report. Google declined to comment, the Journal said.

Apple and Google may be using the data to study how to start providing location-based services, according to the report.
