US Air Force to let brand-new planes rot in the desert (VIDEO)

Some new US Air Force  airplanes being delivered in 2014 will go straight into mothballs (VIDEO)








Due to the sequester, the C-27J Spartan, a cargo plane purchased by the Air Force in 2007, will not be used by the military in times of war, or even to fly. Instead, the 16 that have already been built and the five more that will be built by April 2014 will sit in storage in a so-called "boneyard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.

The planes will join 4,400 other unused military planes, totaling more than $35 billion worth of materiel. RT's Sam Sacks talks about this latest form of military budget waste with Michael Shank, director of foreign policy at Quaker lobbying group FCNL.
