America's National Security Agency could soon see its global survillance powers stunted, as foreign governments and firms move to bolster their cyber defenses.

Brazil's leading the charge with an encrypted e-mail service, while Germany's biggest telecom company is planning to reroute users' data, away from the NSA's grasp.

Andy Müller-Maguhn, founder of Bugged-Planet Dot info - a Wikileaks partner website - thinks that merely rerouting data is not enough to ensure privacy.
