people all around the world will stand up together to demand the rights we were promised in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, signed and approved by most of the world's governments and the basis for many of our constitutions. Shut Down the Port: Monday, December 12

In response to coordinated attacks on the occupations and attacks on workers across the nation: Occupy Oakland calls for the blockade and disruption of the economic apparatus of the 1% with a coordinated shutdown of ports on the entire West Coast on December 12th. "The 1% has disrupted the lives of longshoremen and port truckers and the workers who create their wealth, just as coordinated nationwide police attacks have turned our cities into battlegrounds in an effort to disrupt our Occupy movement." Occupy Oakland, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tacoma, Powell River (BC), Houston. and OWS have all passed resolutions to shut down their city's port on Monday December 12th. Several other Occupy sites not located on the coast, have also planned solidarity actions
