Italian victims of paedophile priests demanded to meet Pope Benedict XVI in an open letter published yesterday, accusing papal officials of blocking them.

“We have gone through all the official channels possible in order to meet you, but have been given nothing but evasive replies,” the letter from various associations of child abuse victims said.

“We are forced, alas, to admit the extent to which the victims of paedophile criminals are treated with disdain, as if they have the plague.”

The letter noted that the Pope had met people abused by priests when young in Australia, Britain, Malta, the United States and most recently in his native Germany, but not in Italy.

International Criminal Court hears formal complaint on Catholic priest sexual abuse - Pope to prison?

The International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague on Tuesday received a formal complaint on sexual abuse by Catholic priests, in a request that seeks the prosecution of Vatican officials for "rape, sexual violence and torture."

Filed by the U.S.-based Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) in conjunction with the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) the complaint is not likely to go far, as the Vatican is a sovereign state and not a signatory to the court.

The Department of Homeland Security has complained to Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) about what it says was an inappropriate disclosure of sensitive security information to the press by the House transportation panel that he chairs.

In a letter dated Wednesday, a clearly miffed Department of Homeland Security Deputy Counsel Joseph B. Maher told Chaffetzthat “sensitive security information” provided to his subcommittee by the Transportation Security Administration was illegally disclosed to the press.

For years, these chimps were used for biomedical research, primarily for hepatitis and HIV. Lennie, once a space chimp, has been documented as suffering atrocities, including being infected with HIV and hepatitis as well as enduring four spinal taps, a bone-marrow biopsy and repeated blood draws, to name a few. All of these very stressful experiments, no doubt, contributed to his death, apparently from heart disease, in 2002.

The Vatican has released the long-awaited results of its investigation into the Irish church following devastating revelations of clerical sex abuse and coverup, but has delayed taking any action for six months or longer.

Pope Benedict XVI ordered the investigation in March 2010 following revelations in Irish government-ordered investigations of widespread abuse and cover-ups in the Irish church.

Father Riccardo Seppia, a 51-year-old parish priest in the village of Sastri Ponente, near Genoa Italy, was arrested last Friday, May 13, on pedophilia and drug charges.

THE US has allowed its diplomatic service to be used on behalf of a Chicago man to serve court papers on the Vatican, suing Pope Benedict, Vatican secretary of state Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone and his predecessor, Cardinal Angelo Sodano, in connection with clerical child sex abuse.

The papers allege all three conspired to keep silent an abuse allegations against Fr Lawrence Murphy at St John’s School for the Deaf, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The priest, who died in 1998, admitted abusing 34 children there.
