For nearly an hour, Webster was peppered with one question after another about his support for ending Medicare, his desire to see tax breaks for the wealthy extended, and his vote to repeal health care reform, including its protections for people with preexisting conditions.
For his part, Webster didn’t just avoid the questions by resorting to talking points, as most politicians commonly do.
On numerous occasions, Webster simply declined to give an answer to contentious questions altogether, moving on to take a new question instead.

Don't let anyone from the cancer industry lie to you about PSA screening:
The test is completely bogus and offers zero improvement in your lifespan.
That's the conclusion from a 20-year study that followed over 9,000 men.
After 20 years of follow-up, guess what the results were?
No significant difference in the rate of death between those screened for prostate cancer versus those who weren't.

Now the FDA Is Going After Vitamin C!
~

The FDA has just notified small pharmacies that they will no longer be allowed to manufacture or distribute injectable vitamin C—despite its remarkable power to heal conditions that conventional medicine can’t touch. Please help reverse this outrageous decision!

Let’s get this straight. The government acknowledges the risk of a worldwide flu pandemic. It acknowledges that conventional drugs cannot cure big viruses-like the mononucleosis and hepatitis viruses, many influenza viruses, and many others. It acknowledges that many bacteria have become resistant to antibiotics and are killing increasing thousands. It acknowledges the risk of a worldwide drug-resistant TB pandemic.

What Bush Wrought

Gail Collins: Speaking of jerks, I’m afraid I’ve got to depart on a negative note because I need to register a long wail of pain and rage. It’s about George W. Bush.
I know we’re supposed to move on, and honest, I’ve tried to let it go. I have never once — well, until this very moment — dwelt on the fact that all our problems in Afghanistan might have been far less problematic if the last president hadn’t turned his attention away from the good fight to wage the dumb fight down the street.
Our problems in Afghanistan might have been less problematic if the last president hadn’t turned his attention to Iraq.
And during all this health care slog, I haven’t pointed out that this would be way, way easier if He Who Must Not Be Named hadn’t screwed everything up with those stupid tax cuts. O.K., I may have mentioned it once in a while.
But not nearly as often as I thought it.

Michael Moore mulls post-'Capitalism' career
~

Michael Moore says he made his latest documentary, "Capitalism: A Love Story," as though it were his last. And it might be.

Michael Moore says he made his latest documentary, "Capitalism: A Love Story," as though it were his last. And it might be.
The George W. Bush antagonist of "Fahrenheit 9/11" and gun-control champion of "Bowling for Columbine" closing up shop? The General Motors jouster of "Roger & Me" and health-care trouper of "Sicko" no longer in the documentary business?
Filmmaker Michael Moore says his most recent film, "Capitalism: A Love Story," might be his last documentary.
Moore says he may return to doing fictional films.
"I'm saying it's a possibility, yeah," Moore said in an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival, where "Capitalism" played in advance of its nationwide rollout Friday.
"I've done this for 20 years. I started out by warning people about General Motors, and my whole career has been trying to say the emperor has no clothes here, and we better do something about it," Moore said. "I've been having to sort of knock my head against the wall here for 20 years saying these things.”
"Two years ago, I tried to get the health-care debate going, and it did eventually, and now where are we? We may not even have it. What am I supposed to do at a certain point?"
