Metal sphere that crashed to Earth in Namibia is a fuel tank from rocket (or Santa's Sled?)

The mysterious metal sphere fell to the ground in a remote area of northern Namibia has now been identified as a hydrazine tank from an unmanned rocket, shown as new left.

When the 13lbs, 14 inch ball smashed to earth in mid- November it sparked a national security issue with the Namibian authorities asking NASA for help in identifying it.

Inspector General Says Nothing Wrong With New York City Police Partnership with the CIA

Well, then! Nothing to worry about!

The CIA says its inspector general has found nothing wrong with the spy agency's close partnership with the New York City Police Department.

The inspector general concluded that no laws were broken and no evidence exists that the CIA was conducting forbidden domestic spying.

The Associated Press revealed how, after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks the CIA helped the NYPD build domestic intelligence programs that were used to spy on Muslims.

TSA airport screener confiscates cupcakes claiming icing might be national security threat

Just when I thought I had the holidays off, the TSA does something stupid (again) that demands, at the very least, a satirical response.

This time it wasn't the TSA checking the diapers of infants for "poop bombs", nor molesting your 90-year-old grandmother in her wheelchair.

In this case, it was the TSA confiscating a cupcake after claiming the icing posed a threat to national security.

Washington crosses the Delaware... again! New work paints more accurate picture of famous moment in U.S. history

New version: New York artist Mort Kuntsler's painting, titled Washington's Crossing: McKonkey's Ferry, Dec. 26, 1776, debuts on Monday

He told The Associated Press that he's 'not knocking the original' - the well-known 1851 painting by German-born artist Emanuel Leutze, who Kunstler says 'was glorifying Washington using what he knew at the time.'

But Kunstler said his new piece is aimed at righting the historical mistakes.
