Physician-Assisted Suicide Goes to Vote in Massachusetts (VIDEO)

"Voters in Massachusetts on Tuesday will head to the polls to decide a handful of issues, like whether to re-elect President Obama and Senator Scott Brown, and whether to allow the use of medical marijuana.

Voters in the Bay State will also be asked whether to allow doctor-assisted suicide. If the ballot measure passes, Massachusetts would become the third state, after Oregon and Washington, to legalize physician-assisted suicide for people with terminal illnesses.

The measure would allow terminally ill patients whose doctors say they have six months or less to live to obtain lethal doses of medication.

The opening to the above-linked AP story sets up the debate nicely: "Leaders on opposite sides of Massachusetts' right to die debate are fighting for the same reason: Both have watched loved ones receive fatal diagnoses."* Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian break down the initiative; is it fair to legally prohibit someone terminally ill from electing to end their own life?
