Bernard Madoff has to face his victims in a New York courtroom at 10am today (2pm London time), when the former Nasdaq stockmarket chairman is expected to plead guilty to perpetrating a $65bn fraud.
The 70-year-old is likely to spend the rest of his life in jail, with prosecutors pushing for him to be put away immediately, but before he enters the prison he will hear himself denounced by a string of investors, many of whom he tricked out of their life savings.
