Arkansas High School Appoints Co-Valedictorian Because Top Student Was African American

A high school student in Arkansas was blocked from receiving sole valedictorian honors this summer, despite earning the highest G.P.A. in her class and receiving only a single B in her four years at McGehee Secondary School.

Kymberly Wimberly’s offense? She’s black.

School administrators worried that Wimberly’s accomplishment would result in a “big mess” at the majority-white school, so Principal Darrell Thompson told the student’s mother “that he decided to name a white student as co-valedictorian,” even though the white student had a lower G.P.A.

The matter is currently pending in federal court.

Churches are Tax Exempt: But Why? - No More Tax Exemption for Churches

The legislature has deemed that churches can be tax exempt. Why are they granted this status? Hey, I would like to be tax exempt too! Unfortunately our Constitution left the door wide open for tax exemptions for churches.

I bet you live in a community which has at least one, usually several depending on the size, large, expensive structures which do not contribute to the taxes collected for the benefit of schools, libraries, zoos, sanitation, and so on. Does this seem right, just or even sane? I vote NO!

A site geared toward collecting anonymously sourced information about the phone hacking scandal surrounding Australian magnate Rupert Murdoch's media empire, News Corp., has appeared online. Thus far, Murdoch Leaks, as the site is titled, only has submission information displayed.

"With the recent phone hacking scandal surrounding Rupert Murdoch's News of the World and other aspects of his empire, it's become evident that the fourth estate has failed so it's time to invoke the fifth estate. And what is that? - It is You!" is written on the site, along with a Twitter link.

Over time, evidence has emerged that supports the allegation that Ohio's vote data made an unscheduled detour through Chatanooga, TN and during that stop, was doctored to make sure George W. Bush won Ohio and the election.

New Google Plus SocialNetwork Deleting Accounts En Masse: No Clear Answers

A number of Google+ accounts have been deleted in the last 24 hours as the new social network struggles with real name policy.

The message I received this morning from the source in my previous Google+ article summarized it,

Google+ suspended my acct “After reviewing your profile, we determined the name you provided violates our Community Standards.”

After the next few messages repeating the same thing, it was clear that the dam had burst and Google+ is on an account suspension rampage.
