The Lone Star Card is Texas’s food stamp benefit, which pays out to over 2 million people each month, according to the state.
Though I’ve always managed to barely scrape by as a writer, I’ve never been so unfortunate as to need food stamps. Should that day ever come, I’ll take at least a little comfort knowing that sushi apparently isn’t off the menu.
