Currently there are approximately 400,000 people on the United States' consolidated terrorist watch list and 6,000 are on the no-fly list, which means flying in American airspace is prohibited for a pretty big chunk of the country.
Some people have been placed on that list just for having a name comparable to someone who is being watched by the US government.
