On Tuesday, Ecuador's foreign minister confirmed that Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is seeking political asylum. Assange found himself at the Ecuadorian embassy in London which released a statement claiming the country has "immediately passed his [Assange] application on to the relevant department in Quito." The statement goes on to say that the whistleblower will remain at the embassy under the protection of the Ecuadorian government. So will Ecuador grant Assange political asylum?
