Relatives of banana-plantation workers, political and social activists, and other civilians killed by Colombian paramilitary forces may sue Chiquita over claims of torture, extrajudicial killings, war crimes and crimes against humanity, a federal judge ruled.

In a multidistrict litigation, the plaintiffs accused Chiquita Brands International and Chiquita Fresh North America of complicity in hundreds of deaths because of its direct and indirect payments to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia.

Chiquita was also allegedly involved with arms shipments into Colombia.

This helped run the deficit up from 53.7 billion dollars to 68 billion. So the Treasury in June of last year had to raise a total of 68 billion including the 15.3 billion Catherine was speaking about.

The New York FED and the primary dealers sold a total of 211 billion dollars. If you subtract the 68 billion actually needed from the 211, you get a total of 142 billion dollars we pocketed from the sale of phony Treasury bonds. Now go back and add in the 15.3 billion to the 142 billion and you get a total of 155.3 billion dollars we stole in just one month from you.

A group of homeless people have been camping out beside the Prospect Park lake for the last two months and hunting small game for food, reports the Post.

However, in this article I am going to detail some of the ways that the DHS is actively engaging in economic warfare against the people of the United States while lining their own pockets and those of their cronies at the helms of various corporations.

The most recent example is this: despite our teetering on the age of a possible default thanks to the clowns in Washington, $72 million in our non-existent tax dollars have been guaranteed to Lockheed Martin by the TSA.

This sum was given in exchange for more naked body scanners, which have a proven track record of health dangers and invasions of privacy.

The imaging machines which just happen to take completely nude, almost pornographic images that can be removed from the monitoring station for later “use” are going to be rolled out to an additional 300 airports.

Bunnatine “Bunny” Greenhouse, the former chief oversight official of contracts at the Army Corps of Engineers, has reached a $970,000 settlement six years after she was demoted for publicly criticizing a multi-billion dollar, no-bid contract to Halliburton — the company formerly headed by then-Vice President Dick Cheney.

Greenhouse had accused the Pentagon of unfairly awarding the contract to Halliburton subsidiary, Kellogg Brown & Root.

Testifying before Congress in June 2005, she called the contract the worst case of government abuse she had ever witnessed in her 20-year career.

There's some drama that has been developing recently between what the President wants and what the Republican Congress wants. The problem is that it is a staged 'reality show'.

To me, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are like good cops and bad cops. They are both the same (cops) with one agenda, but one makes believe they are on your side.

Right now, Obama is having this epic battle with the Republican Congress.

Good cop Obama threatens that seniors and the disabled will not receive their Social Security checks on August 3rd if the bad cop Republicans don't increase the debt limit. The Republicans won't give in unless Obama cuts something from Social Security and Medicare.

Eventually, Obama will cut some Social Security and Medicare benefits and still come out smelling like a rose claiming that he had to do it so seniors get their checks in August. He cuts Social Security but he is a hero because "he saved" Social Security. Yeah, Obama! (LOL)

Obama, the Democrats and the Republicans in Congress all work for the same 'person': the ONEPERCENTER.

They were all elected with money from the richest one percent of Americans (and the world) and their job is to protect the wealth and power of the ONEPERCENTER.

Obama and Congress will continue to do this by further cutting taxes of the wealthy while increasing the burden on the poor and what little remains of the middle class.

Obama and the Congress will cut salaries, teachers, policemen, firemen, welfare and medical services as the middle class and poor tax dollars won't pay for these without the taxes of the rich and corporations.

Whatever money remains in the coffers will be spent on the military industrial complex and on wars of conquest for more oil. The money will pay for soldiers, guns, weapons, missiles, bombs, fighter planes, tanks and funerals.

Little by little, Obama and our congress is returning the American people to a time just before 1776, a time of only rich and poor, a time of only royalty and peasants.

How Boehner’s Debt Plan Produces ‘The Greatest Increase In Poverty And Hardship’ In American History

To secure $1.5 trillion in entitlement savings over the next ten years would require draconian policy changes. Policymakers would essentially have three choices:

1) cut Social Security and Medicare benefits heavily for current retirees, something that all budget plans from both parties (including House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s plan) have ruled out;

2) repeal the Affordable Care Act’s coverage expansions while retaining its measures that cut Medicare payments and raise tax revenues, even though Republicans seek to repeal many of those measures as well; or

3) eviscerate the safety net for low-income children, parents, senior citizens, and people with disabilities.

There is no other plausible way to get $1.5 trillion in entitlement cuts in the next ten years.
