According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the wealth management unit will be named "Abbot Downing" and will only service families with more than $50 million in their coffers.

I'M GLAD YOU POSTED THIS! IT IS ONE OF THE MANY THINGS MOM AND I WERE TALKING ABOUT IN OUR 45 MINUTE CALL THIS MORNING.
Yep, if anything, this should drive more of the 99% to quit Wells Fargo. Of course, the 1% hs more money than the 99%. But the 1% is too smart to put their money with Wells Fargo even if they do give them Looney Tunes checks.
I fail to see the problem. If Wells Fargo- or any company at all really- prefers one kind of customer to another, who are we to say otherwise?
Don't businesses have the right to serve pretty much whoever they want? Doesn't a business have "the right to refuse service to anyone"?
Or do those kinds of rights fly out the window when we don't agree with them?
Absolutely right, Roland. And it is my right to tell the corporation to stick it and will not do business with them.
Yep, that was my feeling also Roland. So, now we the 99% get our money out of Wells Fargo and put our money in credit unions, which we own, and where we get paid interst and whre they appreciate us.
Let us not forget that Wachovia/Wells Fargo was caught laundering hundreds of BILLION$ in Mexican drug cartel money... Got a small fine, and NOBODY WENT TO JAIL
Yes, these banks commit high crimes and instead of going to jail, they get taxpayer bailouts and get to pay bonuses to their executives while the man who stole a sandwich because he was hungry went to prison.

Yesterday I was arrested for forcing a wells fargo to close 3 hours early when 3 marchers and I occupied Wells Fargo.

Just doing my part! Thank you all for your support. The police were top notch professionals. They really got what we were doing and refused to actually book us and instead gave us tickets and let us walk out the door at the jail.
Occupy a bad bank in your town. Just remain silent and refuse to leave. If the police ask for your name tell them, if they ask for your id give it to them. Otherwise remain silent. We chose to stand up and follow directions after the arrest because the police were a shining example of professional restraint. But if they would have been forceful we would have gone limp.
Peaceful, non-violent acts of resistance are one of the most powerful statements that can be made!
