Gov. Scott Walker raised funds at a furious pace in the first half of 2011, bringing in $2.5 million.
That total reported in a state campaign finance filing was nearly five times as much as then Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat, raised in the first half of 2007 after his re-election.
The aggressive fundraising shows Walker is readying himself for a possible recall attempt by union supporters and Democrats when he becomes eligible for recall next year.
