Nine Myths About Socialism in the US

~

Glenn Beck and other far right multi-millionaires are claiming that the US is hot on the path toward socialism.

Part of their claim is that the US is much more generous and supportive of our working and poor people than other countries. People may wish it was so, but it is not.

The fact is that the US is not really all that generous to our working and poor people compared to other countries.

When you look at how the US compares to these 30 countries (like Canada and most of Europe), the hot air myths about the US government going all out toward socialism sort of disappear into thin air.

Americans have zilch idea as to what socialism is. They toss the word around because they were told by the AMA way back in the 30's that it was related to communism. It was the AMA's spin on Roosevelt's desire to instigate a national health care system. Of course no one takes the time to really investigate what exactly socialism IS even to this day. Total bullshit. Socialist this country ain't...nor is it's right of center president. Sorry jackasses, you are dead ass wrong.

Why is it that our tax money has to be used to wage progeteering wars or to be given to Israel or to bail-out the wealthy's banks and corporations? Our tax money should be use for our country, our people: schools, roads, services. homes, jobs, etc.

What you say is true. Try getting that through Joe the Plumber's thick cabeza. Military/Industrial, and now, added to that, uber-corporate complex. The name of the game is greed. War is good for business, and Joe has bought the spin in the name of patriotism and free-enterprise. Throw in a mix of religion, bullshit, and a six-pack, and complete the illusion.
