Just when I thought I had the holidays off, the TSA does something stupid (again) that demands, at the very least, a satirical response.

This time it wasn't the TSA checking the diapers of infants for "poop bombs", nor molesting your 90-year-old grandmother in her wheelchair.

In this case, it was the TSA confiscating a cupcake after claiming the icing posed a threat to national security.

Washington crosses the Delaware... again! New work paints more accurate picture of famous moment in U.S. history

New version: New York artist Mort Kuntsler's painting, titled Washington's Crossing: McKonkey's Ferry, Dec. 26, 1776, debuts on Monday

He told The Associated Press that he's 'not knocking the original' - the well-known 1851 painting by German-born artist Emanuel Leutze, who Kunstler says 'was glorifying Washington using what he knew at the time.'

But Kunstler said his new piece is aimed at righting the historical mistakes.

This first edition of Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, bottom, and original layout, top, are from the estate of Robert May, who wrote the famous story in 1939 as part of a Montgomery Ward marketing campaign

You know Dasher and Dancer and the rest of the gang. But do you recall, the most 'Perfect Christmas Crowd-Bringer' of all?

That's how executives at Montgomery Ward originally described Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, who first appeared in a 1939 book written by one of the company's advertising copywriters and given free to children as a way to drive traffic to the stores.

Bloomberg reports that Bank of America (BAC) has shifted about $22 trillion worth of derivative obligations from Merrill Lynch and the BAC holding company to the FDIC insured retail deposit division.

Along with this information came the revelation that the FDIC insured unit was already stuffed with $53 trillion worth of these potentially toxic obligations, making a total of $75 trillion.

Less than a century ago, Christians comprised nearly 10 percent of the population of Palestine (now Israel and the Palestinian territories).

In 1946, the figure was around 8 percent.

Today, Christians make up about 4 percent of the West Bank’s population.
In Israel, though Christians make up 10 percent of its Palestinian population, they only constitute 2.5 percent of the total population.

In Gaza, the Christian minority is even smaller, representing just 1 percent of the population.

One major factor in the decline of Christianity here: the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
