Medical mistakes rampant in US hospitals. (VIDEO)

Here's something to consider next time you go under the knife: a new study from Johns Hopkins Medical School shows just how often surgeons have made serious mistakes during the past 20 years. For starters, the study found surgeons leave foreign objects, such as a sponge or a towel, inside of their patients around 39 times a week. Peter Pronovost, senior vice president for patient safety at Johns Hopkins, talks about the study with RT's Meghan Lopez.
