Haha, what do gigantic bloodthirsty oil companies love more than gazillions of dollars in tax breaks?
Gazillions of dollars in tax breaks that children must pay for, with their lunch money dimes and schoolbooks and sad faces.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (which sounds about as real as a Texas Commission on Banning Jesus) is studying the possibility of forcing ailing Texas schools to return tens of millions of dollars in property taxes to their friendly neighborhood oil refineries, who claim they are owed all this money as a tax refund on emissions-reducing equipment they were forced to buy.
Someone has to pay for these public health upgrades, and it’s sure not going to be a bunch of billion-dollar oil companies. THIS IS AMERICA FOR GOD’S SAKE.
