The late New York Yankees owner -- and basis for the Seinfeld character -- seems to have worked really hard for his presidential pardon from Ronald Reagan.
According to about 800 pages of recently released FBI memos, Steinbrenner helped the agency from 1978 to 1983, including "two national security matters," one an "undercover operation" that led to a conviction.
