QUESTION: DOES A TSA SCREENER CHANGE HIS OR HER GLOVES AFTER TOUCHIUNG SOMEONE'S SEXUAL ORGANS AND BEFORE TOUCHING THE NEXT VICTIM? ARE THEY SPREADING CRABS, FUNGUS, STDs & HIV/AIDS DISEASES? ARE THEY INFECTING THE TRAVELING PUBLIC AND OUR CHILDREN?
The three most important words you can say before the security screeners at an airport begin searching you and your belongings just might be "Fresh gloves, please."
I've often considered requesting fresh gloves during the security process. But I didn't realize how important clean gloves are until checking with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and also a nationally prominent podiatrist, a South Texas surgeon, two teaching nurses and a nurse who has written 5 books and 350 articles on women's health.
Unsanitary gloves can share pathogens between travelers and those who search their bodies and belongings. According to the CDC, "[proper] hand-hygiene practices reduce the risk of transmission of pathogenic diseases.
