More than one in 10 New Yorkers have already suffered from infestations of bedbugs in the home, according to a Daily News-Marist poll.
Eleven percent of respondents -- 800,000 people -- said they had been bitten by bedbugs in their own homes, more than twice as many as in 2009.
"I got all chewed up," said Margaret Martinez, 61, of the Bronx. "I woke up and I had bites all over my arms and my face. I was all swollen."
