Jolly Rancher lands Fort Bend County third-grader in detention for a week

~

A third-grader at Brazos Elementary was given a week’s detention for possessing a Jolly Rancher.

School officials in western Fort Bend County are defending the seemingly harsh sentence. The school’s principal and superintendent said they were simply complying with a state law that limits junk food in schools.

But the girl’s parents say it’s a huge overreaction.

WRH's Commentary:

The so-called "educators" are snatching the candy, watching out for potential terrorists and even spying on kids in their own homes through school-issued laptops and in all the confusion actually teaching our kids something useful, the reason they collect our taxes in the first place, seems to have gotten lost!
