In his historic speech to the Muslim world Thursday, Barack Obama became the first sitting US president to publicly state that America took part in the 1953 coup in Iran.
“In the middle of the Cold War, the United States played a role in the overthrow of a democratically elected Iranian government,” Obama told a packed audience at Cairo University in Egypt.
